Pathaan is the 5th Indian film to join the 100Cr club on opening day

Shahrukh Khan’s Pathaan created box-office history on its opening day. The film had a stupendous Day 1 at the box office and crossed the 100 crores gross mark on day one. By doing so, it has become the fifth film overall and the first Bollywood film to achieve this feat.

So far, Baahubali 2, Saaho, RRR, and KGF 2 have managed to enter the 100-crore club on day one. Interestingly, all these films belong to Telugu and Kannada industries and with Pathaan, Bollywood has also entered the exclusive club.

The action thriller marks Shahrukh Khan’s return to the big screens after 4 years. He was last seen in a lead role in Anand L Rai’s Zero. The advance bookings for this film established new records and day 1 collections were expected to be big. Shahrukh Khan’s Pathaan also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in key roles. The film was well appreciated for its entertainment quotient and Shahrukh Khan’s screen presence.

Despite being a mid-week release, this Shahrukh Khan starter has surpassed all expectations. Pathaan is a proper big-budget action film in Bollywood after Hrithik Roshan’s War which was the biggest Bollywood opener at that time. Finally, after 3 years Pathaan has surpassed all previous Bollywood opening records.
