Parasakthi First Week Box Office: Poor Collections Despite Big Advantages

The legal petition was filed in the Chennai High Court by Rajendran, an assistant director. He alleged that Parasakthi was made by copying his original story and sought a ban on the Tamil film.

Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi received a major advantage this Pongal/Sankranthi after the postponement of Jana Nayagan due to censorship issues. Because of this, there were high expectations for the film that it would collect very big numbers, similar to Amaran.

But the film opened with mixed word of mouth. Even with mixed reviews, trade circles expected Parasakthi to post strong collections due to the Pongal festival advantage. Unfortunately, the movie is not showing the massive box office numbers that were expected.

In its first week, it has collected around ₹43 crore gross in Tamil Nadu and approximately ₹70 crore gross worldwide. At the time of release, there were expectations that the film would easily cross ₹200 crore gross. But now, even reaching the ₹125 crore mark by the end of its full run appears to be very difficult.
