The latest romantic entertainer from Bollywood is Param Sundari. With Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra in the key roles, this movie has attracted a lot of attention from viewers thanks to its superhit songs. Today, the Tushar Jalota-directed film is out in theaters. Let us find out how this film has turned out in our review.

Story:

Param is portrayed by Sidharth Malhotra, and he’s the son of a well-off businessman named Sanjay Kapoor. Param dreams of being a successful entrepreneur, so he starts several businesses but doesn’t quite make it like his dad did. One day, someone tells him to check out a dating app called ‘Find My Soulmate,’ so he hops on a trip to Kerala to meet Sundari (Janhvi Kapoor), whom he thinks is his soulmate. The rest of the tale focuses on how this adventure transformed Param’s and Sundari’s lives.

Performances:

Sidharth Malhotra appeared nice, but there is nothing tough with his character, and he does not even enhance the scenes with his acting skills. The actor did an all right job overall.

Janhvi Kapoor adds her own flair to Sundari’s character, and she nails a few moments with her passion and acting skills. Sanjay Kapoor cracks a few jokes in the second half, and Manjot Singh and the rest fit right in.

Analysis:

Director Tushar Jalota goes all out to make Param Sundari as a nod to the classic Bollywood romance films. The story and conflict were solid enough to make a timeless film, but he missed the mark.

Sachin-Jigar’s soundtrack grabs your attention from the very first scene. All the songs sound impressive, and the beautiful visuals of Kerala amp up the experience. The Paradesiya track really stands out and looks wonderful on the big screen.

While Param Sundari delivers a charming album, that’s perfect for romantic comedies, it misses the deeper feelings that would make it memorable as a full-length film. The director kept things simple, even during the heated parts, which makes the emotional impact a bit mixed.

Only a handful of scenes hit the mark, like the opening moments with the hero and heroine and those funny parts after the break where the hero tries to charm both the heroine and the locals. These all come in bits and pieces and do not pack a punch.

When the hero comes clean about his true intentions of getting involved with the leading lady, leaving her heartbroken, one would expect that there will be a solid reason for the heroine to accept him. However, surprisingly, after a few moments, she embraces his love.

Things wrap up so fast at the end that it does not dive deep into the emotions, which takes away from the overall effect. If the emotions had packed more punch, Param Sundari might have been a great film.

Positives:

  • Music
  • A Few Crucial Scenes Between Sidharth Malhotra – Janhvi Kapoor
  • Comedy Scenes Here And There

Negatives:

  • Plain Screenplay
  • Weak Emotions
  • Intensity Missing In Romance Portions

Param Sundari Movie Review and Verdict:

Param Sundari has one of the best albums out lately, packed with some fun and romantic moments. Honestly, it does not deliver as a romance movie and barely meets basic expectations.
