The horror comedy film had not-so-good buzz before the release, but Thamma got decent talk from audiences and critics and became the 10th 100 Cr movie for Rashmika Mandanna.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, Thama stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal in key roles.

The screenplay and dialogues are written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Fulara, with cinematography by Saurabh Goswami and music composed by Sachin–Jigar. The film is the fifth installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe and was released on October 21, 2025.

The film’s story centers on Alok, a journalist who stumbles upon a mysterious woman, Tadaka (played by Rashmika Mandanna).

Fans Upset Over Kantara Chapter 1’s Early OTT Release

0

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 is still running with good numbers, and on the weekends, the film shows a very big jump, and that is why the fans are upset over the early OTT release of the film.

Even on the last weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, the spiritual action drama posted more than double-digit gross. The film crossed the 800 Cr gross mark worldwide and had a good chance to reach the 850 Cr mark too.

But suddenly, the OTT platform, Prime Video, announces the movie’s streaming from 31st October, which raises a debate. Fans are angry with Kantara Chapter 1’s team, and they feel bad that even such big-budget pan-India films are also arriving on OTT within 4 weeks.

Bollywood has a good regulation of maintaining an 8-week theatrical-to-OTT window, whereas the South Indian films do not have this window, as even big-budget films are coming to the digital space in just 4 weeks.

This is also making the people feel a bit hard done by, as they are going to theaters and spending a good amount of money, but those movies are immediately arriving on OTT platforms. Due to these reasons only, there is a huge decline in theatrical runs and footfalls.

Producers and industry people continuously say that the theatrical market is going down, but they are to blame, as they are making the same mistake again and again.

0

NTR fans were delighted when their favorite hero announced a big film under the direction of Prashanth Neel. The film has already changed its release date, and the latest news is that NTR’s Dragon is set for a Sankranthi 2027 release.

The initial release date for Dragon was Sankranthi 2026, and the release date was announced even before going to the sets. But the movie faces continuous delays, so the makers pushed the film to June and announced the release date as 25th June, 2026.

Due to more delays, the team is said to be postponing this release also and looking at year-end release plans, which look tough.

There is buzz that the team of NTR’s Dragon is likely to see an option of 2027 Sankranthi, as their first plan was to release the film during the Sankranthi festival in 2026, but they missed it.

The film’s shooting has taken a long break, and the next schedule is expected to start next month.

Idli Kadai OTT Release: Streaming Begins Tonight

0

Dhanush’s Idli Kadai was released on 1st October, which he directed and acted as the lead hero in as well. After four weeks of its theatrical release, Idli Kadai is all set for OTT streaming tonight on Netflix

The film received good appreciation from Tamil audiences, but it did not do huge numbers at the box office like Raayan because of low buzz, and at the same time, Kantara Chapter 1 became the no. 1 option for audiences.

Despite its lower box office performance, the film was still a profitable venture within its budget. Released in Telugu as Idli Kottu, the movie has collected around 70 Cr gross worldwide.

Idli Kadai will be available for streaming on Netflix tonight in all languages, and it will be a good watch for OTT audiences.

The upcoming action entertainer, Mass Jathara, starring Ravi Teja, will have its India shows starting from 6 PM IST on 31st October, whereas overseas shows will start from 10 PM IST on 31st October.

So, Indian audiences are the first audience for the film, and this is a golden strategy from the team. Because we see the trailer and promotional content, Mass Jathara promises to be a high-voltage mass entertainer packed with all elements.

For this genre, definitely, mass belts are the target audience, and the first WOM has to come from that audience, which will help the film’s openings.

The trailer increased the buzz on the film, and Mass Jathara is expected to receive a positive response from the early shows in India. Today, a pre-release event is happening with Suriya as the chief guest.

Once known for love stories, Alutri changed his path and began creating content-driven films such as Sir (Vaathi) and Lucky Baskhar. Now, with Suriya, the film is said to be a family entertainer featuring strong emotions and music.

Producer Naga Vamsi clarified that Suriya 46 is not a pan-India film, and it is a bilingual film in Tamil and Telugu, and around 50% of the shoot is already completed. The film targets a summer 2026 release.

Interestingly, the film’s full-fledged advances are yet to open, and premieres are also being planned on 30th October, which has not yet started ticket bookings.

But still, with a massive hype around it, Baahubali: The Epic crosses the 5 Cr advances for its opening day, and this mammoth film is expected to beat the previous re-release’s biggest films, Khaleja/Murari, with opening day advances alone.

Baahubali Re-Release: Massive expectations in the trade

There are very high expectations for this re-release, and it is certainly set for a huge opening. Normally, a re-release potential is limited to opening day most of the time, but we have to wait and see how the mighty Baahubali trends once it’s out in the theaters.

As of now, the trade has massive expectations for this re-release, and they anticipate it to have a good run in the theaters.
