Director Maruthi unexpectedly became the target of NTR fans because of a statement he made during the pre-release event of The Raja Saab. After receiving backlash, the director has now apologized to them.
Maruthi said that he has great respect for NTR and his fans. He explained that sometimes, while speaking with emotion, words may come out differently than intended. He expressed regret that his statement was misunderstood or seen as a comparison.
During NTR’s movie events, he often says that he makes films in a way that everyone can “raise their collar” with pride after watching them. This “collar-raising” phrase is considered a sentiment for NTR fans.
Yesterday, during the launch event of The Raja Saab’s first single, Maruthi made a comment that upset NTR fans. He said that words like “collar lifting” are small when compared to the massive cutout of Prabhas. Because of this remark, NTR fans strongly reacted on social media.
Maruthi later apologized and clarified that he never meant anything disrespectful and had no bad intentions behind his statement.
