Mohan Babu’s Son Of India completed shooting a long while ago but due to various unknown reasons, the film did not release in theatres or on OTT. The movie boasts of music from legendary music director Illaiyaraja and Diamond Ratna Babu has directed the film.
Due to the long delay in release, the movie has not received any offers from distributors for a theatrical release. Due to this, the makers approached all leading OTT platforms but no one was interested in an old film. With no other choice, the makers are doing their own release theatrically in all territories.
Mohan Babu’s last role was a short yet important role in Suriya’s Soorari Pootru. He showed people that he still had that acting fire in him. Son Of India follows the story of a politician played by Mohan Babu. It is based on true events from the two Telugu states. It is being marketed as a patriotic action entertainer.
The film also stars Pragya Jaiswal, Srikanth, Tanikella Bharani and Ali in prominent roles. Manchu Vishnu has produced the film under 24 Frames Factory. Interestingly, Mohan Babu himself has written the screenplay of the film. It is all set to release in theatres on February 18th,2022.
