Ever since Mohanlal and Jeetu Joseph announced Drishyam 3, there have been huge expectations around the film’s story and its theatrical release. Jeetu Joseph says that it is not a forced sequel and proceedings will be as natural as they can be.
The director reiterates that Drishyam 3 will be an organic continuation of the previous films, and he will not make the movie just to match the hype, as his focus remains on telling the right story.
Jeetu Joseph said that he is not consciously trying to write a ‘better-than-Drishyam 2’ script just for the sake of it, and in Drishyam 3, his focus will be only on Georgekutty and his family and on what could have happened in their lives over the six or seven years since Part 2.
Observing both parts, we see that the surroundings and the people around Georgekutty have also changed. Initially, those around him believed in his innocence. However, in Part 2, many began to suspect something else. Their perspectives shifted. Jeetu has stated that he employed a similar, organic approach in Part 3 as well.
The Malayalam version’s shoot is happening now, and the Telugu version’s shoot is expected to start in early 2026.
