Actor Nithiin sees continuous failures at the box office, but despite those failures, his movies are being made on huge budgets. Because of this, Nithiin’s movies have a mismatch between budget and business.
His recent release, Robinhood, was made on a 70 Cr budget, but its worldwide theatrical business was done in a 25 Cr ratio. On top of it, the movie miserably failed at the box office and ended up with a single-digit share.
Now the same is the case with his upcoming film, Thammudu. The producer officially reveals the movie was made on a budget of 75 Cr, and they spent 35 Cr just for making it.
But if we look at the business ratio, it is the same as Robinhood: 25 Cr. That is why Nithiin’s movies have a mismatch between budget and business.
The budgets of the actor’s films are getting increased, but the business at the box office is not getting increased.
Before, makers were able to recover with good non-theatrical deals, but the digital market has declined, and that affects movies. Which is why the theatrical performance is very key for any movie.
Thammudu needs to perform more than its pre-business and give overflows for Dil Raju to be in a safe position.
Meanwhile, Nithiin’s next film is also with Dil Raju, Yellamma, which is likely to be made on a moderate budget.
