Netflix gets into Popcorn business

Streaming giant Netflix has launched its own popcorn brand. Netflix has teamed up with popcorn company Popcorn Indiana for the snacks. The popcorn will be available in two flavours “Cult Classic Cheddar Kettle” and “Swoonworthy Cinnamon Kettle.” The Netflix-branded popcorn will be available at Walmart stores nationwide and at other retailers.

Interestingly, Netflix Popcorn’s pricing is higher than the monthly plan in several cases. Around 225 grams of popcorn will be available for 4.49 dollars (Rs 375). This is merely a branding exercise and the streaming giant has no plans as of now to expand to countries all across the world and be available for mass consumption.
