Netflix is forcing Vidaamuyarchi. Tamil star hero Ajith is currently working on two films, Vidaamuyarchi with Magizh Thirumeni and Good Bad Ugly with Adhik Ravichandran. A few days back everyone including the industry persons thought that Good Bad Ugly would arrive for Pongal and Vidaamuyarchi will be moved to Summer. But suddenly Vidaamuyarchi’s teaser was released recently and the makers announced it as a Pongal release which created a big confusion.
One of the main reasons for producers pushing Vidaamuyarchi to Pongal is said to be the deal with Netflix. Reportedly, Netflix is forcing Vidaamuyarchi and it wants the film to arrive on Pongal only. It is a known fact that OTT platforms are deciding movie release dates nowadays based on their slots. Vidaamuyarchi OTT rights were bought by Netflix for a very high price and it is being reported that they might cancel the deal if the movie does not arrive on Pongal as per the agreement. Because of this, Vidaamuyarchi must be released for Pongal.
As of now, one schedule is said to be pending for Vidaamuyarchi which will be completed by mid-December, and even Ajith also wants Vidaamuyarchi to be released first before Good Bad Ugly.
