Nani had requested permission from Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and the police to attend The Paradise’s September 23 premiere at a theatre in RTC X Roads, Hyderabad, and watch the film alongside fans. Nani said that experiencing a film with audiences has always been special to him and assured the authorities that his team would follow all safety protocols. The CM has now asked Nani’s team to submit a formal application to the designated local police station, after which the concerned officials will assess the request from a crowd-management and public-safety perspective.
Allu Arjun’s Sandhya Theatre Incident In Focus
The issue assumes greater significance because of the December 4, 2024 stampede at Sandhya Theatre, also located at RTC X Roads, during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. A large crowd had gathered after Allu Arjun arrived at the theatre, and the ensuing crush resulted in the death of Revathi, while her young son suffered serious injuries. Police subsequently registered a case involving Allu Arjun, his security team and the theatre management, and the matter remains before the courts. The incident has since brought increased scrutiny to star appearances at crowded premieres and the arrangements required to manage such gatherings.
Nani Ready To Follow Police Decision
Nani has now responded to the CM’s message, stating that he completely understands the importance of public safety, particularly with Ganesh Nimajjanam arrangements also placing demands on the police and traffic authorities. He said he would respect the final decision of the police and would be willing to skip the theatre visit if officials identify complications from a safety or crowd-management perspective. The Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela, has its special premieres on September 23 ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on September 24.
