Mythri Movie Makers Producer Y. Ravi Shankar participated in a press meet celebrating the success of their recent film, Mathu Vadalara 2. The film became a big blockbuster after the release grossing nearly 30 crores worldwide. During the press meet, a reporter asked the producer about Dance Choreographer, Jani Master and the producer made irresponsible comments about the issue.
We all know that Jani Master was recently jailed for his alleged sexual assault on another female choreographer. Jani was instantly booked and was even suspended from dance association body of Tollywood. But it seems the Producer didn’t take it as a serious matter. He said that the issue of Jani Master was a personal one between Jani and the victim which felt very irresponsible. This issue was supposed to be related to the Film Industry and the Producer treating it as personal felt so stupid.
As a producer, he must understand the seriousness of this issue and make responsible comments. This whole incident has also highlighted the women safety of Tollywood. So, this is not a proper way from the Producer to assess the situation. Being one of the top producers of the film industry, he must assure safety but not moving away from atrocities in the film Industry or acting neutral.
