Teja Sajja’s Mirai has created a good amount of interest among audiences and trade as well. However, the producer of the film went for high business and sold the Telugu version’s theatrical rights for ₹24.5 Cr.
This is a smart and calculated move by the makers, as the film is already in profit.
Selling at an exorbitant price could have put buyers at risk. Normally, given the movie’s hype, any producer could have closed the rights for much higher.
But the producer of Mirai sold the Telugu version’s theatrical rights for a reasonable price, with the worldwide breakeven set around 25 Cr.
The film’s budget is around 60 Cr, and the makers recovered with non-theatrical rights, and they are already in big profits.
