In a major breakthrough, Telangana Cyber Crime Police have arrested a gang involved in large-scale movie piracy. The group, which operated across India, was responsible for leaking over 40 Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil films on their release day over the past 18 months.
According to officials, the gang used cryptocurrency payments to run their illegal business, making it harder to trace their transactions. Six members of the gang have been taken into custody.

Authorities revealed that the film industry suffered a massive loss of ₹22,000 crore due to this piracy network. Out of this, Tollywood alone faced a loss of ₹3,700 crore. The arrest has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, highlighting the urgent need for stronger anti-piracy measures.
