Kuberaa Promotions: Hits and Misses

Dhanush’s second Telugu film, Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula with Nagarjuna in a crucial role, will arrive in theaters in another 3 days. Kuberaa’s promotions produced mixed results, as they have hits and misses.

If we observe the total promotional content of Kuberaa, a total of 3 songs have been released till now. The first single, Poyiraa Mama, was decent, but the second single, Anangana Katha, failed to impress audiences.

Everyone felt that the second song would work in the movie as it is a content-driven song. The 3rd single, Pippi Pippi Dum Dum, did not even register with audiences. So, the audio did not help the film’s buzz in any way.

Sekhar Kammula always scores with songs that work in his films, but for Kuberaa, they could not bring the required pre-release buzz, as this film’s audio did not meet audiences’ expectations.

The plus point for the film is the teaser [Trance Of Kuberaa] and the recently released trailer. Both worked very well, and they promise a solid and hard-hitting subject from Kammula.

As said above, the movie, set against the financial-crime backdrop, will hit the screens on this Friday, 20th June, and the ticket bookings have also opened. One can say that the makers could have released the trailer a week back, which could have helped the buzz.

Overall, Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa’s promotions produced mixed results, as they have hits and misses. The film creates a decent buzz, and because of its genre, the movie may not start with a huge opening at the box office.

But definitely if WOM is positive, then numbers will start getting bigger and bigger in the following days, and audiences are waiting for a good film, and this hunger among cinephiles will act as a big boost for Kuberaa.
