Barring Pradeep Ranganathan’s comedy drama Dragon, most of the films Kayadu has featured in have struggled commercially. To make matters worse, Kayadu faced criticism from sections of the audience and critics over her portrayal of an adult-film actress in the Srikanth Odela directorial, with the character and its presentation becoming a talking point after the film’s release.

Anudeep’s Funky, Tovino Thomas’ Pallichattambi and Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game are among Kayadu Lohar’s notable releases this year, and none of them managed to make a significant impact at the ticket window. With several interesting projects lined up, the actress will be hoping for a turnaround in fortunes. She is set to share the screen with Suriya and Sivakarthikeyan in her upcoming films, and it remains to be seen whether these big-ticket collaborations can help change the trajectory of her career.
