Suriya’s upcoming film, Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, is yet to announce its official release date, but the makers are aiming for an early 2026 release. The film stars Trisha as the female lead and is set against a divine backdrop, with Suriya playing the role of a lawyer named Saravanan.
The latest update is that Suriya’s Karuppu will feature a climax sequence inspired by Kantara. The story revolves around the demigod Karuppasamy, who protects his people through Saravanan. In the climax, Suriya’s character is said to transform into Karuppasamy, delivering a powerful and emotional ending similar to Kantara’s impact.
To make the film even more gripping, the team has decided to shoot an additional action block, responding to the strong audience reaction to Kantara. Suriya has allotted a three-day call sheet starting November 15 for this new sequence, which is expected to raise the film’s scale and intensity.
Once this final schedule wraps up, the entire shoot will be completed, and the makers are likely to announce Karuppu’s release date soon.
