Even though Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 did not have initial momentum due to low pre-buzz, the film finished its 1st week on a strong note at the box office as the WOM was positive.

The film sees superb collections on the first weekend, and even on the weekdays, the film is holding good numbers across all territories. After a 4-day extended weekend, the spiritual action drama collected around 115 Cr gross for the next 3 weekdays, which is an excellent trend and promises a long run at the box office.

If we go area-wise early trend, Karnataka is looking at 120 Cr in 1st week collections, while the Telugu states’ number is at 73 Cr, Kerala at 31 Cr, Tamil Nadu at 34 Cr, and North India at 120 Cr, taking the total 1st week India gross to around 377 Cr.

After a strong performance in the 1st week at the box office, Kantara Chapter 1’s overall worldwide gross will be around 447 Cr, as the overseas gross is likely to be around 70 Cr. The actuals may vary a bit, but it will be a minimal difference.

Now the film needs a bigger 2nd weekend, and it needs to aim to cross the 600 Cr mark by this weekend. At this current trend the film is looking to settle at around 700 Cr in its full run, but if the run continues to be strong, it can go near the 800 Cr milestone.
