Emergency is an upcoming Hindi-language biographical film starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. Also written and directed by the actress herself, this is a political drama based on the Indian emergency (1975–1977).

For those unaware, this features Kangana as Indira Gandhi, the first and only female prime minister of India. For obvious reasons, Emergency has been postponed multiple times owing to censorship hurdles by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

As the title reads, the film has wrapped up the censorship formalities with few voluntary cuts. Announced by Kangana via Twitter, a release date for the film will be out very soon. Emergency is co-produced by Ranaut’s Manikarnika Films and Zee Studios. Stay tuned for more such exciting updates.
