It looks like the controversy regarding the recent statement from the legendary actor Kamal Haasan at the Thug Life promotional event is not going to stop anytime soon. After receiving threats to say sorry for his remarks, Kamal Haasan says he won’t apologize.

On Friday, Kamal Haasan refused to apologize for his remarks about the Kannada language and insisted that he would only do so if he was at fault, which he feels isn’t the case now. The actor claimed this is his lifestyle and asked others not to meddle.

“If I’m wrong, I’ll apologize. If I’m not, I won’t. This is my lifestyle; please don’t tamper with it,” the 70-year-old actor responded to the language row, exclusively speaking to India Today. He added, “India is a democratic country, and I believe in law and justice.”

Kamal Haasan Says Kannada Originated from Tamil – Raises Controversy

During a promotional event for Thug Life, Kamal Haasan stated that ‘Kannada came from Tamil,’ leading to backlash from various groups in Karnataka seeking an apology. Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) announced a ban on Thug Life if the actor does not issue a public apology.

Now, as Kamal Haasan says he won’t apologize, Thug Life’s release in Karnataka will certainly face problems. But the actor seems to be undeterred by the issue. When questioned about these threats, the actor simply responded, “I’ve been threatened before.”
