It’s been more than a month since Kalki 2898 was released and the film is still running at the box office which is an anomaly these days. This 100 rs ticket pricing is doing wonders for the film. On Friday, the film sold 22K+ tickets on Book My Show and was still trending on the platform. Bollywood has been doing this for quite some time by cutting ticket prices after 3 weeks or 4 weeks of release.
Unfortunately, Tollywood has still not adopted this culture. With Kalki, we can expect some change in Tollywood and see biggies cutting the ticket price after 3-4 weeks. This move will certainly help the film to bring a larger audience and even encourage repeat viewership on the big screens.
Releasing films on OTT after 8 weeks of release and putting lower ticket prices after 3-4 weeks are some things Bollywood has been doing for quite some time and it is about time Tollywood adopts these practices and increases the success chances as we saw in the case of Kalki.
