Kalki 2898 AD is performing extraordinarily at the box office. The film has already grossed 600 crores worldwide in the first week. It is also doing great at the overseas market. The performance of Kalki 2898 AD marks the underperformance of Prabhas’ previous outing, Salaar directed by Prashant Neel. Salaar had an initial buzz exceeding limits thanks to the popularity of Neel for his KGF Series. Salaar also enjoyed a holiday season advantage.
Salaar had grossed in the range of 620 crores worldwide in full run. But the trade analysts felt this was not uptp the mark. Now, Kalki 2898 AD looks to have performed stronger than Salaar. Kalki 2898 AD as said has already touched the 625 crore mark in the first week itself. Its Telugu version too has crossed 200 crore share mark and now stands at 220 crores. Kalki 2898 AD outperformed Salaar in both Telugu and other versions. Kalki 2898 AD first week collections are also higher than Salaar lifetime run.
Kalki 2898 AD is also expected to join the 1000 crore club in its full run. Salaar’s final run will not be even 2/3rd of what Kalki 2898 AD made then. We have to see how Salaar 2 would perform.
