Suhas has come up with yet another novel concept through Janaka Aithe Ganaka. The film managed to evoke some curiosity through its quirky title and trailer. While it will be competing with other bigger films like Vettaiyan, Viswam, and Maa Naana Superhero, let’s find out if the film manages to stand apart and make its mark.

Story:

Prasad (Suhas) is a middle-class man living a simple and happy life with his wife (Sangeerthana Vipin), and they share a loving relationship. He is strictly against having kids and believes one should have children only if one can provide them with the best. His life changes when he realizes he is about to become a father. Prasad decides to file a lawsuit against the condom company. Will he win the case? How does he argue his case? This is what the story follows.

Performances:

Suhas delivers yet another mature performance and he is great in the comedy scenes as well emotional moments. Goparaju Ramana as his father is amazing and the scenes between Suhas and Goparaju Ramana are well written and performed. Vennela Kishore who manages to bring the house down with his comic timing is the life of the movie. Sangeerthana Vipin does a decent job and plays a typical housewife. However, her character and interactions with Suhas could have been written better.

Movie Analysis:

Sandeep Bandla writes and directs Janaka Aithe Ganaka, against a middle-class backdrop, focusing on some real-world issues. The movie gets to the point quickly and has enough entertaining episodes in the first half. Scenes like the land dispute between the father and son or the drunken banter between two friends feel familiar but are brought to life by the actors’ performances. The son’s playful interactions with his father, exposing him to the realities of modern expenses, work well, though the sales-related subplot doesn’t have the same impact but adds a bit of drama

Positives:

  • Vennela Kishore
  • Strong support cast
  • Production values in the limited budget
  • Realistic portrayal of middle-class

Negatives:

  • Some silliness in court proceedings
  • 2nd half portions look dragged
  • Heroine character

Verdict:

Janaka Aithe Ganaka is a quirky take on the realities of middle-class life. While the film becomes quite silly at times, the underlying message and the character’s intentions are great. Watch it if you’re looking at a unique, humourous take on our daily lives.
