Thalapathy Vijay’s last film, Jana Nayagan, now has its trailer out in all versions, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, much to the happiness of fans. The trailer has put an end to the discussion of whether it is a remake or not.
The trailer suggests that the film is a remake of Bhagavanth Kesari with some modifications. Vijay and Mamitha Baiju’s characters appear to be directly inspired by Balakrishna and Sree Leela from the original, while the villain’s backdrop and ambitions have been changed completely.
In Bhagavanth Kesari, the villain is a powerful businessman who controls politicians, and this setup is used to create conflict between the hero and the villain through Sree Leela’s character, after which the narrative takes a different turn.
But Jana Nayagan’s trailer suggests that the story follows a political narrative focused on the hero’s political ambitions. It remains to be seen how this mix works at the box office. The trailer itself offers a lot of satire on current political leaders and elevates Vijay, including the last dialogue.
