Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is slated for 9th January,2026 release, and a few months ago, there was a buzz from Tamil circles that Prime Video bought the film’s OTT rights for a sensational price of 120 Cr.
But now, a strong set of reports or news is that the film’s OTT rights are yet to be sold. Nowadays, the OTT platforms are not giving big offers for star heroes’ films like before, but the makers are expecting the same level, and this attitude is causing several films’ OTT business to be on hold, and Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is said to be one among them.

For that matter, not only Jana Nayagan, but also other Kollywood Sankranthi release Parasakthi’s OTT rights are said to have not been sold yet due to the same reason: mismatch between the OTT platforms’ quoted price of the producers’ asking prices.
Both are big-budget films, and OTT deals need to be closed for massive prices for the makers to be in a safe zone.
