James Cameron confirms Avatar2 is a box office success and further sequels

After the release of Avatar back in 2009, James Cameron took a massive 13 years gap to make and release the second part of the film in 2022. The film opened to decent reviews and extraordinary applause for visual effects and the grand scale of the movie. Avatar 2 has now crossed the $1 billion mark at the box office and is doing well across all the global markets.

The massive success of Avatar 2 has now given a great boost to James Cameron’s further plans on building the Avatar franchise. The ace director has confirmed that Avatar: The Way Of Water has crossed the break-even point and the sequels will be made as planned.

Even before the release of Avatar,2 Cameron declared that if this film fails at the box office, then there will be no more sequels. However, the success of this visual extravaganza has reopened all the sequel’s plans.

“I’m sure that we’ll have a discussion soon with the top folks at Disney about the game plan going forward for Avatar 3, which is already in the can,” said the director during an interview.

The director confirmed that the third part has been shot and needs post-production and heavy CG works. Meanwhile, part 4 and 5 have been written and will go on floors sometime next year.
