Jailer 2 has crossed another huge milestone. Rajinikanth’s film has gone past ₹600 Cr gross worldwide today, on just its eighth day in theatres.
With that, it becomes only the third Kollywood film ever to cross ₹600 Cr, and the fastest to get there.
Kollywood’s ₹600 Cr Club
- 2.0
- Jailer
- Jailer 2
All Three Belong to Rajinikanth
Here’s the stunning part. Every single Tamil film that has crossed ₹600 Cr stars Rajinikanth. No other Tamil star has a film in this club.
Rajinikanth’s 2.0 was the first to get there, followed by Jailer. Now Jailer 2 makes it three out of three for the Superstar.
Fastest Ever: Just 8 Days
Jailer 2 has reached ₹600 Cr faster than any Tamil film before it. It took just eight days, after a record ₹580.5 Cr first week.
The film has been breaking speed records all along.
- ₹100 Cr+ opening day
- ₹300 Cr in 3 days
- ₹400 Cr in 4 days
- ₹500 Cr in 6 days
- ₹600 Cr in 8 days
- ₹700 Cr Is Next
The next big target is Rajinikanth’s own 2.0, which holds the all-time Kollywood record with close to ₹700 Cr. Jailer 2 is now only about ₹100 Cr away from it.
At its current pace, that record is set to fall soon, making Jailer 2 Tamil cinema’s new industry hit and the first Tamil film in the ₹700 Cr club.
