Dhandoraa, starring Shivaji, Navdeep, Bindu Madhavi, and Nandu, has created a strong buzz with its powerful trailer and impactful theme. The film is set to release this Christmas, with ticket prices fixed at ₹99 in single-screen theatres and ₹149 in multiplexes. Showing strong confidence in the film, the team has also planned early premiere shows starting today.
However, the film has landed in controversy even before its release. At the pre-release event of Dhandoraa, actor Shivaji made comments that quickly went viral and sparked heated discussions on social media.
Shivaji’s remarks about the way heroines dress in the Tollywood industry, especially off-screen, attracted severe criticism. He stated that wearing outfits that expose body parts does not define beauty. He further said that women should wear sarees and traditional clothing.
In his speech, Shivaji mentioned that people see motherhood in women and that women wearing sarees add beauty to nature itself. He recalled how legendary actresses like Savitri and Soundarya created a strong impact in the industry while wearing traditional sarees. He also pointed out that even in the current generation, actresses like Rashmika Mandanna have achieved success without wearing short or revealing outfits. Shivaji advised actresses to choose traditional attire over modern, revealing clothes.
He admitted that his words might hurt some people, but he expressed hope that following such values would be good for society.
