The Telugu Film Producers Council has been constantly conducting meetings to revive the theatrical market again. The main topic of concern in all these meetings is the topic of remunerations of actors.
The current plan is to cut off the remunerations of medium-range and small-range heroes who are charging a huge sum of money. Actors like Ram Pothineni, Sree Vishnu, Satyadev, Akhil, Vijay Deverakonda, and so on will fall under this category of medium/small range actors.
But the problem is, how will they define who a medium range or a small range actor is? The Film Industry is a very volatile industry and is prone to a lot of change. One good or one bad film can change the market by a huge amount.
For example, Akhil Akkineni and Vijay Deverakinda are at the peak of their career right now. Despite being medium/small range, they are doing massive Pan-Indian films with a lot of budget. It will therefore be hard to categorize such actors into a fixed set.
Moreover, will these actors even accept the decision of the council? Akhil and Vijay have put in a lot of work for Agent and Liger respectively. They will argue that they deserve every penny that they get from the film.
For all heroes, there are some films that are made on a massive scale and budget and therefore they need to be aptly rewarded for the same. Remunerations cannot be fixed and they will change based on the size and scale of the film.
It is practically impossible to control the remunerations by one team and even if they do, it will only lead to problems further. It should eventually be the actor’s decision and the producer’s call.
