Actress Hansika Motwani has filed a ₹2 crore defamation suit against her sister in law, television actor Muskan Nancy James, in a Mumbai sessions court. The suit responds to domestic violence allegations that Hansika claims are false and retaliatory, linked to a disputed ₹27 lakh loan.

The Defamation Suit Details

Represented by advocate Adnan Shaikh, Hansika Motwani is seeking ₹2 crore in damages from her estranged sister-in-law for alleged false statements made on social media. The actress wants to halt further derogatory comments and secure a public apology from Muskan Nancy James.

According to the petition filed in the Mumbai sessions court, the defamation suit alleges that the domestic violence accusations were fabricated to avoid repaying the loan amount. Hansika’s legal team claims the allegations are part of a targeted campaign to damage her reputation.

The Loan Dispute Allegations

Hansika Motwani alleges that Muskan Nancy James, who was married to Hansika’s brother Prashant Motwani, filed false accusations to avoid repaying an alleged loan of ₹27 lakh taken during their marriage. According to reports, the loan amount was borrowed during the marriage but never repaid despite repeated requests.

The actress’s legal petition states that the domestic violence allegations were made on social media as a retaliatory measure when the family sought repayment of the loan.

Counter-Allegations by Muskan Nancy James

Previously, Muskan Nancy James had filed an FIR against Hansika Motwani, her brother Prashant Motwani, and their mother, alleging mental cruelty and domestic violence. The television actor had repeatedly posted allegations on social media, accusing Hansika and her family of subjecting her to physical and mental harassment.

The court has now issued an order restraining Muskan from making further statements against the actress while the defamation case proceeds.
