Guntur Kaaram Producer Naga Vamsi has strongly hit back at the media during the interaction he had for his upcoming film, Tillu Square starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran. He replied to a question saying that they were not at all disappointed with Guntur Kaaram’s result and instead quoted that it is the media that stands disappointed about the film’s result.
Naga Vamsi was referring to the degradation done by the media during the release of Guntur Kaaram. A section of the media tried to degrade the film which released during the Sankranthi festival. The film opened to mixed talk on the opening day and this became a weapon for the media to degrade it further. They tried to compare the film’s future result with that of Box office failures, Agnyaathavaasi and Brahmotsavam.
But the film performed well despite the mixed talk. Family audiences showed up at theatres for its family content and the brand image of Mahesh Babu and Director Trivikram. The film ended up as an average grosser. However, the media tried to show the film as a box office failure. Naga Vamsi said that Guntur Kaaram did not disappoint him or the team as he was in Table profit before the film’s release. He also quoted that it recovered 90% of the revenue theatrically worldwide.
