In the film industry, heroes and directors will always follow a distinct trend over a period of time. The South Indian cinema industry, where the commercial formula is the most important in film making, has this particular focus. Over the last few years, the trend of making films as franchise has become a norm as the language barriers are broken, and every film is aiming to be a pan-Indian cinema.
Ace director SS Rajamouli has started the trend of sequels and franchise with Baahubali Series which was continued by Prashanth Neel’s KGF Series and Sukumar’s Pushpa further took the craze of sequels to another level.
Now all the big budget films are turning into a franchise by making films into multiple parts. As said above, the trend was started with Baahubali which was followed by KGF, Ponniyin Selvan series. All these films were made in two parts, and Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s Pushpa will soon join the list.
Pan Indian star Prabhas’s Salaar is also a multipart film. Nag Ashwin’s Project K is the latest one to join this franchise trend. It is very well known that Superstar Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli are collaborating for the biggest action film and even the makers of this film are also planning to make it in multiple parts. Now today on the occasion of Tamil Star Hero Suriya’s birthday, his latest film Kanguva is announced as a multipart film and the first part will be released on 12th April.
Not only big films, but the small films also follow the same theme after the super success of Karthikeya 2. The film did work at a huge level at pan-Indian box office and the third part will also be made. Adivi Sesh’s Goodachari 2 is also one of the craziest sequels which the audiences are waiting to see.
