Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra has been a great commercial success at the box-office and managed to pick up Bollywood from a slump. At a time when all the other film industries were delivering blockbusters, Bollywood saw several big-ticket failures like Laal Singh Chaddha. It was Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra that gave the industry some momentum. Now, the same can be said about Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam2 as well.
Infact, Drishyam 2 is performing way better than Brahmastra on weekdays. On the 1st day, Brahmastra collected around Rs 68Cr gross worldwide, and on the 2nd day, it’s expected to do more than Rs75Cr. However, after a terrific weekend, the Ranbir Kapoor starter saw a major slump. Drishyam 2, however, performed exceedingly well on weekdays as well as on weekends.
Brahmastra has posted record openings and weekends for Bollywood cinema post covid , Drishyam2 has started with a good opening weekend and holding terrific on weekdays, the week days numbers are on par or more than Brahmastra. At the current pace, Drishyam2 has all the chances to collect 200Cr net at box office
Drishyam 2 is a remake of Mohanlal’s Malayalam blockbuster of the same name. Jeethu Joseph directed the original while the remake has been directed by Abhishek Pathak. The film stars Tabu, Shriya Saran and Akshaye Khanna in key roles.
