The film also received unanimous positive word of mouth after the start of the initial shows witnessing a massive jump in bookings. The collections have also gone up from show to show. The film is also performing well in Telugu having a very good opening day.
In Tamil Nadu, Dragon opened with more than 5.5 crore gross and opened at around 10 crore gross worldwide. The film also saw a big jump and is trending better than the opening day in all the areas today. Dragon is also expected to join the 100 crore club with this trend.
Pradeep Ranganathan had a great start as the Lead Actor with his debut film, Love Today, which nearly went close to 100 crores. The film collected around 90 crores gross in the full run, and Dragon looks to beat this record by officially joining the 100 crore club. Joining the 100 crore club with a 2nd film itself will be a great achievement for Pradeep who has also established himself as a promising Actor in Kollywood.
On the other hand, Dragon has also overshadowed other release NEEK, produced and Directed by Dhanush. NEEK opened to decent word of mouth and reviews, but the dominance of Dragon is felt everywhere and netizens also are going crazy about Dragon. How NEEK fares and sustains the clash with Dragon needs to be seen. The popularity and stardom of Dhanush for NEEK are not helping as expected for the film.
