Divya brings a baby boy into the world, much to everyone’s happiness, but both the families are stunned when she says that the hospital workers replaced her son with someone else’s baby.

Nimisha Sajayan and Atharvaa performed amazingly well. Atharvaa brings the emotions well in crucial scenes, and Nimisha Sajayan nailed her role as a girl dealing with mental issues.

Chetan and Ramesh Thilak are apt, but their characters are left midway. Balaji Sakthivel is good in a supporting role, while Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub and others are okay.

Analysis:

The story crafted by Nelson Venkatesan for DNA is sure to grab the audience’s attention. The idea of babies vanishing from certain hospitals is quite fascinating. The screenplay hooks you like a good crime thriller should, though it does have some hiccups.

The first half takes a while to get to the main point, and there are some boring parts along the way. In the second half, when the hero looks for his lost son, some convenient plot points pop up and kind of lessen the impact for a bit.

How the suspense unfolds in the story keeps everyone interested. The interval block really grabs the audience’s attention for the second half.

Even though the story speeds up a bit at the end, the way they deal with the mastermind of the kidnapping gang is pretty cool.

Positives:

  • Atharvaa – Nimisha’s Performance
  • Interesting Plot and Screenplay
  • Climax

Negatives:

  • Ordinary Scenes in the First Half
  • Predictable Parts in the Second Half
  • Unnecessary Songs

DNA Movie Review and Verdict:

Nelson Venkatesan’s DNA impresses the audience as a well-made crime thriller with an intriguing plot. The main story of the film, the performance of the actors, and the engaging screenplay are the highlights of the film. While it has its share of dull moments and predictable twists in the second half, the movie is worth watching.
