Dimple Hayati was introduced with an unnoted film Gulf but got recognition for Eesha’s role in Abhinetri 2 which featured Prabhudeva and Tamanna in the lead roles. Last year she came into limelight with her outstanding performance in a special dance number Jarra Jarra beside Varun Tej in Gaddalakonda Ganesh. Generally, the directors choose famous faces or Bollywood models for the item songs in commercial films but Harish Shankar noticed a special charm in Dimple and selected the Telugu actor for this song. Dimple proved him correct and the song became instant chartbuster of the last year.
Now, this song made her lucky and got a golden chance to make her debut in Bollywood with Atrangi Re starring top stars like Akshay Kumar and Danush. Sara Ali Khan will be seen opposite to Akki and Dimple is roped in as another female lead next to Dhanush. Dhanush’s Bollywood debut Raanjhanaa director Aanand L Rai is directing this multi-starer which was started in early March and halted its shooting due to the lockdown.
Tanu weds Manu director Aanand is known for rom-com genre films and Atrangi Re is also such kind of film with a triangle love story in the village backdrop. Once the filmmakers happened to watch the video song of Jarra Jarra and felt that Dimple was very expressive in that song. Later, they called Dimple to Mumbai for the screen test and finalized her as a heroine as it’s the role of a filthy folk village girl and the filmmakers felt Dimple would be the perfect choice for it. She will join the team once the shoot resumes.
Atrangi Re is a tri-lingual film which will have its simultaneous release in Telugu and Tamil. T-Series bankrolls this project in association with Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films while A.R Rahman is composing the music. Initially, this movie’s release was scheduled for Valentines Day 2021 but it will be pushed further.
