Starring Varsha Bollamma in the lead, Constable Kanakam was a well-regarded series on the Telugu OTT platform, ETV Win. Now, the second season has arrived, much to the delight of fans. Let’s see how this new season has been shaped in the following review.
Story:
Constable Kanakam (played by Varsha Bollamma) successfully closes the missing women case in the remote Repalle forest. But she is still in search of her close friend Chandrika, who has mysteriously disappeared. Season 2 focuses on how Kanakam uncovers Chandrika’s hidden past and finally cracks the case.
Performances:
Varsha Bollamma appears more confident in the second season, which adds strength to her character and screen presence. She also performs well in emotional scenes. Megha Lekha delivers an impressive performance as Chandrika.
Suchitra Ananda gets a strong role and does an excellent job. Rajeev Kanakala, along with the rest of the cast, also delivers solid performances.
Analysis:
Director Prashanth Kumar Dimmala presents Season 2 of Constable Kanakam with an engaging narrative supported by an emotional undertone. He adds timely twists and turns, and the investigative setup, along with the use of backstories to unfold the case, keeps the audience interested.
But the season does have a few drawbacks. In an effort to keep the narration sharp, some important revelations are rushed, which reduces their impact at certain moments. A few crucial characters from the first season do not get the expected importance as well.
