Southern states like Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka have had triple-digit grossers for a long time; only Kerala is yet to deliver a triple-digit grosser at the box office. Mohanlal was expected to achieve it with his recent hyped sequel, L2E. Now, the question is, can Thudarum achieve what Empuraan couldn’t?
Previously, 2018 Movie became the biggest grosser in Kerala with 89 Cr gross, and everyone expected Empuraan to easily achieve 100 Cr, but the film ended up with 86 Cr gross.
Can Mohanlal’s Thudarum Collect 100 Cr Gross in Kerala?
On a surprising note, Mohanlal’s latest low-budget film, Thudarum, is aiming for a huge target now. The film is having a rampage weekend in Kerala. On the first day it collected 5 Cr+ gross, and on the 2nd day it gathered 7 Cr, and today it is expected to collect more than 8 Cr gross, which would take the weekend total to 20 Cr+ gross.
Empuraan failed to achieve the expected, but Thudarum has a chance now
The best part is tomorrow, the 1st weekday advances are more than the opening day, which says how strong the film is holding at the box office. The Malayalam fans are now excited: can Thudarum achieve what Empuraan couldn’t?
If Tharun Moorthy’s directorial, Thudarum, continues the same hold for another 2 weeks, the film will definitely have the chance of becoming the biggest grosser in Kerala and will achieve the 100 Cr benchmark as well.
