In the Nizam region, there has been a continuous cold war between Mythri Movies and Dil Raju, with both openly targeting each other in the past for the theater count, which makes it tough for Prabhas’s upcoming film, The Raja Saab’s smooth release.
For Sankranthi 2026, the battle is set to resume, as Mythri Movies is releasing The Raja Saab, while Dil Raju is bringing multiple films, such as Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Anaganaga Oka Raju, and Nari Naari Naduma Murari. Meanwhile, Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi is releasing through Asian Cinemas, which shares a strong relationship with Dil Raju. Both have jointly distributed several films before, so they are expected to work in coordination again.
Even dubbing films like Jana Nayagan and Parasakthi are being released by Dil Raju and Asian. This gives Dil Raju multiple releases during Sankranthi, while Mythri Movies is banking on the biggest budget and most hyped film of the season, The Raja Saab.
With so many films competing, a war for theatres is inevitable. The biggest challenge for Mythri Movies will be to secure and hold enough screens for The Raja Saab during the festival days.
