Bhagyashree Borse, who is all set to enthrall audiences in Lenin starring Akhil Akkineni next week, revealed she was approached for the Bhagyashree Borse Yellamma project. The actress confirmed she was contacted by director Venu Yeldandi‘s team but had to decline due to scheduling conflicts.
Yellamma Project Faces Casting Delays
Director Venu Yeldandi, who touched everyone’s hearts with Balagam, has faced significant delays with his second film, Yellamma. Initially, names ranging from Nani to Nithin were heard for the lead role. The project eventually landed with music director Devi Sri Prasad, who is making his acting debut.
Top Tollywood producer Dil Raju is producing this film on a grand scale with a massive budget. Devi Sri Prasad reportedly turned down several lucrative music offers to focus on acting in Yellamma, showing his immense faith in the story.
The Search for Yellamma’s Female Lead
While Devi Sri Prasad is confirmed as the lead actor, finding the female lead has proven even more challenging. The film unit is facing greater difficulties in casting the heroine than they did with the hero.
This is because the female lead’s role holds equal importance to the male lead in Yellamma. Star heroines like Keerthy Suresh, Sai Pallavi, and Mrunal Thakur were prominently considered for this strong role.
Why Bhagyashree Borse Said No
Reports earlier suggested Bhagyashree Borse was finalized as the lead actress of Yellamma. However, she confirmed she opted out of the project due to scheduling conflicts with her commitments to Lenin.
The actress is currently busy with the promotional campaign for Lenin, which releases next week. Her dates clash made it impossible to accommodate the Yellamma schedule.
With Bhagyashree Borse out and the heroine hunt continuing, it remains to be seen which star actress will land the opportunity to star opposite Devi Sri Prasad in Venu Yeldandi’s signature village drama.
