Young actor Sathvik Varma who has featured in over 70 films including Baahubali, DJ, Malli Raava among others has come up with his latest release Batch Part 1. The film is a collective endeavour of newcomers with Shiva directing this film made under Akanksha Movie Makers. Let’s find out if the film was successful in engaging the viewers.
Story: The story begins with a group of 3 friends at the Vizag beach. From here it proceeds to a college where Sathvik joins. He soon falls in love with the heroine in a common manner. This is where the story takes an interesting turn where the hero and his friends are engulfed in the world of cricket betting under Salim (Prabhakar). Why did Sathvik enter the betting world and how did he encounter the menace of Salim. How he faces the challenges of the dark world of betting and drugs is what the story is about.
Performances: The lead pair of Sathvik Verma and Neha Pathan look the part and perfectly fit the role of college-going youngsters. The casting and music by Raghu Kunche are of the main highlights of this film. Prabhakar has received a meaty role here and does complete justice to his part as Salim. The writing majorly focuses on the life of youngsters between 18-22 and director Shiva has done a decent job at portraying the adolescent stage quite convincingly.
Analysis: Batch is a film that must be watched by youngsters as it does a great job with depicting their lives and their problems. The film has depicted the modern college-going students and their issues quite well and the credit must go to the makers for bringing a relevant issue in front of people. Batch is pretty short in runtime and manages to convey its objective effectively.
