Despite receiving mixed reviews, James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash shows consistency at the box office, and has entered the 200 Cr Club India, while globally, it enters $1Bn Club, surpassing all expectations.
The film collected 15 Cr gross in India in the 3rd weekend. After the 3rd weekend, India gross stands at 204 Cr, with the film aiming to finish around 250 crore gross in the full run. Although this is not as high as Avatar 2, which finished its run around 465 Cr, considering the breakeven number, Avatar 3 will end up as a hit in India.
Apart from joining the 200 Cr Club in India, Avatar: Fire and Ash has entered the $1Bn Club globally, taking the total gross to $1.08Bn. By the end of the 3rd weekend, the film’s domestic total stands at $306 M, international at $777 M, and the worldwide gross is $ 1.083 Bn.
The third part of Avatar now aims to finish around $1.8bn, looking at its current trend, but the Avatar franchise always has a solid long run. It would not be surprising even if films end up in the $2 bn club, but it will need a strong performance from the domestic box office in the coming weeks.
