Avatar (2009) was a sci-fi epic directed by legendary filmmaker James Cameron; considered a ground-breaking work in terms of VFX, it emerged as the highest-grossing film of all time. Following its monumental success, a saga of films has been in development.
The second installment in the series titled ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ took a release in 2022 to positive reviews and went on to gross over $ 2 billion worldwide. Though it underperformed compared to its predecessor, it still was a commercial success. And now a third installment is gearing up for a release.
Titled ‘Avatar: Fire & Ash’, it is scheduled for a worldwide release on 19th December, 2025. The Avatar series features Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Land in lead roles. Besides directing these epic films, Cameron also co-produced them along with Jon Landau.
