Audience Satisfied With Avg. Films Of Big Stars!

There was a time in Telugu cinema when only blockbuster content could pull audiences to theaters. In the current times where digital content has become huge, people are finding quality content in the comfort of their homes.

Considering this logic, one might guess that only films with mind-blowing content would fare well at the box office. But in reality, the opposite is happening. Telugu audiences are flocking to theaters in big numbers to watch strictly average films. Devara: Part One, the most recent film of Jr. NTR, is a classic example of it.

Trivikram’s Guntur Kaaram, which opened to disastrous responses from audiences, still managed to collect a worldwide share of INR 100 crore. While this can be attributed to the unparalleled craze Mahesh carries among family audiences, what about the recent films of Prabhas?

Kalki 2898 AD and Salaar has had a strictly mediocre reception upon release. But guess what? They’ve emerged as highly profitable films for buyers across the globe. Now that we’re talking about this newly-emerged issue, let’s also bring Pawan Kalyan into the picture.

The last three films of ‘Power Star’ have been remakes whose original versions were all over the Internet already. Yet, they’ve managed to register excellent first weekend figures. This is also the same case with the disastrous films of Prabhas: Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush. Even trade experts can’t decode the mind of the Telugu cinegoers.
