Senior actress Raasi recently reacted strongly to a double-meaning dialogue that mentioned her name during a comedy skit, which was performed a few years ago, with Anasuya being the anchor. She expressed her anger not only at anchor Anasuya but also at the judge of the show, stating that comedy is acceptable, but no one has the right to indulge in body shaming.
In response to the controversy, Anasuya shared a detailed apology post addressed to Raasi. She wrote, “Dear Raasi garu, I sincerely apologize from my heart. About three years ago, during a show I hosted, a skit was performed about poor Telugu language skills. In that skit, your name was used, and I was made to deliver a double-meaning dialogue. I should have questioned the writers and director of the show on that very day, but at that time, I did not have the strength or authority to do so. That was my mistake, and I accept it. Please forgive me. I cannot go back and change what happened, but people do change with time.”

Anasuya further explained that viewers could notice the change in her over the years, from openly condemning double-meaning dialogues to eventually quitting such shows altogether. She also expressed her pain over the current hate campaign against her, saying that old clips are being used against her even though she now strongly speaks about women’s safety.
She added, “I can understand how disturbing these stories must be for you, as they are being used to shame me. Whether the director, writer, or producer of that show apologizes to you or not, I feel it is my responsibility to accept my mistake and apologize to you personally. Today, I stand much stronger than before when it comes to questioning people who comment on women’s bodies. I hope you will understand this.”
Now, it remains to be seen how Raasi will respond to Anasuya’s apology about the double-meaning dialogue used in a comedy skit.
