The much-awaited Hollywood biggie, Avatar: Fire and Ash, directed by James Cameron, arrived in theaters today, and its not-so-great response can be an advantage to the Balakrishna starrer Akhanda 2, which still has to do significant numbers to be a safe venture for the buyers.
We have seen in the past where a film, which does not get much collection during the first week, scores well in the second week or so because of another film’s failure. Now, the same thing can happen with Akhanda 2, as Avatar: Fire and Ash did not receive the expected appreciation or hype from audiences.
Now, it has to be seen whether Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu’s Akhanda sequel can get considerable numbers by using the advantage of Avatar 3’s below-par response. With no notable Telugu film releases this weekend, Akhanda 2 will be the only choice for Telugu audiences in theaters. The film needs to capitalize on this advantage and show strong growth in collections, as most buyers are still at around 50% recovery.
