Mahesh Babu reveals why working on Mufasa: The Lion King is a dream come true for him

Mahesh Babu who voices Mufasa in the upcoming film Mufasa: The Lion King reveals what drew him towards the film and why he looks up to the character

It’s time to delve into the legacy of the ultimate king of the jungle, Mufasa: The Lion King, now brought to life in Telugu with the some of the most popular voices of the Telugu industry! Following the blockbuster success of 2019’s live-action ‘The Lion King’, the visually stunning live-action Mufasa: The Lion King is all set to release on 20th December 2024 and a special treat is in store for fans as the Telugu dubbed version presents Mahesh Babu as Mufasa, industry stalwarts Brahmanandam as Pumbaa and Ali as Timon, Satyadev who will be voicing Taka and industry veteran Ayyappa P Sharma joining the team as the voice of Kiros.

Sharing his excitement about voicing Mufasa: The Lion King, Mahesh Babu said, “Mufasa is one of the most iconic characters ever. I think it’s a dream come true for me. He is one of the characters that I’ve always looked up to. The way he takes care of his family, I relate a lot to him. I can’t wait for people to watch me play him,” shares Mahesh Babu.

He further added, “It’s truly an honor, and I think every generation’s favorite character is Mufasa. I can’t wait for audiences to watch the film with their families. It’s really satisfying, and a dream come true,” adds the actor, expressing his excitement.”

Bringing new and fan-favourite characters to life and blending live-action filmmaking techniques with photoreal computer-generated imagery, “Mufasa: The Lion King” is directed by Barry Jenkins.

“Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, introducing an orphaned cub called Mufasa, a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline—and their expansive journey alongside an extraordinary group of misfits.
