Censor Trouble For Jana Nayagan

Following Parasakthi, the censor board, CBFC, has demanded multiple cuts for Vijay’s Jana Nayagan as well, ahead of its audio launch. The film’s team is yet to decide whether to accept the cuts or approach the revising committee. With this, it appears that the upcoming Pongal releases from the Tamil film industry may face some tough hurdles before reaching theatres.

According to reports, Vijay’s Jana Nayagan contains several political references and dialogues, which could be the reason behind the censor board’s objections. Political influence in the film is expected, especially since Vijay has announced his own political party and plans to contest in the next elections.

Meanwhile, the grand audio launch of Jana Nayagan will take place today at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil, in Malaysia. As the film is expected to be Vijay’s last movie before he moves into full-time politics, the event, titled Thalapathy Thiruvizha”, will celebrate his three-decade-long journey in cinema.
