The AI deepfake video featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Jr NTR has triggered widespread outrage across the film industry. Jr NTR was among the first to condemn the digitally manipulated clip and promised legal action, while Chiranjeevi, Vijay Deverakonda, Manchu Vishnu and Ram Pothineni also spoke out against the misuse of AI. With several prominent Telugu film personalities reacting strongly, attention has now turned towards Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who has so far maintained silence on the controversy.
Interestingly, producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, who shares a close association with the Devara team, has reportedly indicated that the matter could be taken up with the Telangana government through Pawan Kalyan. If the team indeed chooses to pursue the matter through the political route, it could take the controversy to another level, particularly given the seriousness of the alleged digital abuse. However, there has been no official announcement yet about Pawan Kalyan becoming involved in the matter, and his silence so far remains notable.
Pawan Kalyan has previously spoken on issues involving women, online abuse and public safety, making his possible intervention a point of curiosity amid the ongoing controversy. With Janhvi herself describing the circulation of the manipulated content as “deeply violating” and bordering on sexual assault, the issue has already moved beyond a celebrity controversy into a wider discussion about AI misuse and digital accountability. Whether Pawan eventually responds or the Devara team takes the matter forward through the government remains to be seen.
