Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Acharya debacle has left the entire trade circle as well as industry insiders shocked. Nobody expected the movie to perform as poorly as it has been doing. This terrible performance has left Acharya buyers in a distraught state.
Acharya had collected a share of 41Crs during its first-weekend run and the film is heading towards the biggest disaster in Telugu Cinema as the Theatrical Rights are valued at 133Crs. While Koratala Siva has promised his future films as compensation to Acharya buyers, they are not in any mood for it.
Instead, the distributors want straight-out monetary compensation for the film’s disastrous run. The movie is expected to bring out a loss of around Rs 90 crores. This is the biggest ever loss in Tollywood history. There were reports that the buyers will be offered Chiru’s upcoming film Godfather at discounted rates.
